CRUSADE
Crusade of Sanctification, Prayer and Self-denial to ask God to end the Great Apostasy and
Restore the Most Holy Sacrifice of the Mass
The Blessed Virgin Mary at Fatima asked for two basic practices, prayer and penance. And this crusade will work on this basis.
This Crusade will actually be threefold, and will adopt the motto, "This is the will of God, your sanctification."
We shall open with the idea of sanctification, that is making ourselves holy. The parable of the Pharisee and the Publican in the Gospels should wanr us that it is not enough to take on the external practices of the spiritual life. The Pharisee bragged that he fasted twicein the week in his prayer in the temple, while looking down on the humble Publican, who simply prayed: "O God, be mercifult o me The Sinner."
Then we proceed to the practice of true prayer. Prayer is essential to salvaiton and God grants the grace of prayer to all. It is our duty to pray for the other graces we need to save our souls and come into total conformity with the Will of God. God opens the door, we must walk through it and in His welcoming arms.
Finally we need to deny ourselves and do penance.
